I am the author of 'Becoming One: A Story Of Triumph Over Multiple Personality Disorder', and have maintained an online presence since 1993. Each Friday, I post 'Best Tweets for Trauma and PTSD Survivors', an annotated compilation of links tweeted in the previous week. I also maintain the Dissociation Blog Showcase, an index of ~180 blogs which discuss dissociation primarily from a personal experience perspective. Having survived a violent, secretive childhood, I know the craving for security, love, and hope that is so often missing in adult survivors' lives. I understand feeling crazy and continually misunderstood. I also know how hard it is to find help to move beyond the pain and daily challenges of trying to put a different life together. What I've learned over many years is that there is always hope. Always. My premise is that 'becoming one' is an ongoing process that is always coming into shape and focus. And it always requires diligence, honesty, and integrity to make it real. It's a journey that does not have to be done alone, either. There are hundreds of great resources for trauma survivors and their supporters, many of them organized by category on my website. Be proactive, and be your own best advocate.

Best Tweets for Trauma and PTSD Survivors (11/11/11)
Best Tweets for Trauma and PTSD Survivors is a weekly Friday feature. My selections are entirely subjective, and I know it will never be possible to include every great resource tweeted. But I can try! I’ve personally read all tweeted links, and believe them to be of great value. Disclaimer: I am in no way …

It’s Friday, the day I gather up my favorite items from the Twitterverse, which may be fun, silly, beautiful, odd, or in today’s case, a bit introspective. Today is also Veterans Day in the U.S. — thank a veteran or active duty member for his or her service. Kindness and gratitude go a long way. …

It’s Friday, and it really could not come soon enough. I’m especially looking forward to our clocks “falling backwards” early Sunday morning, love that extra hour of sleep! But I digress! Each Friday I collect tweets that are funny, beautiful, unusually breathtaking, and this week, a little bizarre. (Think pumpkins.) Enjoy! @pourmecoffee “A twitter …

It’s been a long day, and it’s still Friday somewhere. Every week I gather my favorite tweets that might be funny, beautiful, thought-provoking, or really odd. Enjoy! @Tamavista “What a game! Freese will never buy a drink in St. Louis.” @WisdomalaCarte “For small creatures such as we the vastness is bearable only through …
