It’s been a great fun week, meeting and talking with so many people who are interested in learning about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and generally, PTSD and the long-term effects of trauma.

But it’s time for me to get back to the publishing of my next book, Don’t Forget About You. Earlier this year, I took on what’s become a much larger task than I originally imagined: a Q&A-style book about DID. So much of trauma recovery revolves around learning — and relearning — good habits of self-care. It’s a universal theme, and it bothered me that a good chunk of what I was writing would be, in effect, hidden in a book about DID.

And that’s when I had my light bulb moment — I realized that the subject of self-care for trauma survivors deserves its own space.

The fabulous thing about indie publishing is you can pivot in a new direction, and readily actualize it without being beholden to some locked-in contract to finish the original book first. It’s so very freeing!

My plan is to make Don’t Forget About You available for pre-order within the next month, with actual publication in January! It’s an ambitious goal, and I think I’m worthy of it.

Through the magic of Photofunia, Becoming One is on display at the museum! And if you check the pic on the right, you get a small sense of a surprise I have coming soon, in the form of my next book, Don’t Forget About You! I will be posting more about that later this week. Fun times!

New at ‘Third of a Lifetime’!

I’ve rearranged a few things here at Third of a Lifetime to create a central location for links about me and Becoming One. You’ll notice across the top menu bar there are new page links for Interviews and Becoming One Reviews. Each page will be updated as warranted.

My current project, a Q&A style ebook about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), is coming along nicely, but it’s expanding! I’m finding that there’s nothing really simple about describing aspects of DID in a way that is personal, accurate, and maintains consistency. Meanwhile, the book cover is already finished, and I love it! I’ll be revealing that down the line when the writing is nearer to completion. These are busy, rewarding days for me!

I’d also like to welcome new blog readers who followed the link from the back of the Becoming One ebook! Thank you for your support! “This is a very positive book that emphasises the ability of survivors to overcome their survival strategies which have become troublesome. It certainly has started another process of healing in me. But it also describes what is necessary for this healing process. In the cases of survivors who have dissociated it means to have a dedicated therapist like Howard [Asher].”

Bee is open about being a survivor, and also discusses how issues presented in the book can be triggering. It’s important to me that survivors pace themselves while reading Becoming One.

Earlier this week…. Thank you to everyone who helped to create this success! I’m in such great company here. Of course, rankings are fleeting, but new books aren’t. So I’m getting to work right away on my next work, which will be a Q&A style book about Dissociative Identity Disorder! I’m really excited about this project! More news on that as it progresses.
