"Mind Over Body Phenomenon in MPD"

I just found this YouTube video entitled “Mind Over Body Phenomenon in Multiple Personality Disorder”, made by Dr. Laura De Giorgio of Deep Trance Now. It’s fascinating, and I already live most of this stuff.

It offers a few well-known names in the field to corroborate certain claims of phenomenon observed in their patients, but I wish the website or the video provided more references of substantiation. So often these phenomenon are dismissed as “anecdotal”, as if that makes them not real.

I’m embedding the video here because (1) it is fascinating; and (2) not knowing others have had these experiences makes you feel crazy when it happens to you, especially if you are newly or not yet diagnosed with DID/MPD. You’re not crazy, you’re just you being (all of) you.

I most notice this in myself with my vision. There are times when I read much better without my glasses than with — and they are meant to help me read. Also, I am left- and right-handed, but only to very specific tasks. I throw a ball right-handed; I iron left-handed. I write left-handed, but I must punch numbers on a phone or a calculator with my right hand. I hand-sew left-handed, and crochet right-handed. All of this comports with the habits and pastimes of different alters.

Have you experienced any of this type of phenomenon? Please share.

Interesting. My multiple partner has most of these phenomena.

It’s really nice to get the validation from outside of one’s own head that these things happen pretty universally amongst multiples. Which makes it “normal”. :)
